Cyclist Killed by Box Truck Driver Turning in TriBeCa, NYPD Says

TRIBECA — A female cyclist died after a box truck driver made a turn and struck her on Broadway at Walker Street on Thursday evening, police said.

Yan Jindee, 48, was at the corner of the intersection about 5:46 p.m. when a 38-year-old man driving a truck turned right from Walker to Broadway and hit her, NYPD officials said.

Jindee, of the Lower East Side, was pronounced dead a Lower Manhattan Hospital, police said.

The driver remained at the scene and was not initially arrested or ticketed, an NYPD spokesman said Friday morning. Further information was not immediately available.
