HELL’S KITCHEN — A woman fought off a man who tried to rape her on a Hell’s Kitchen street, the NYPD said.
The 27-year-old woman was in front of 414 W. 51st St., between Ninth and 10th avenues, around 4:20 a.m. on Sept. 1 when the attacker grabbed her from behind, covered her mouth and tried to pull her pants down, police said.
The woman managed to fight the suspect off and yell for help, and the man fled westbound on West 51st Street, the NYPD said.
Police are now searching for a man in his 40s, who was last seen wearing a hooded sweater with white lettering on the front, dark pants and black sneakers.
