INWOOD — A 22-year-old man was left paralyzed after he was shot twice in the chest during the early hours of Labor Day, police said.

The victim was shot Monday about 5:41 a.m. in front of 565 W. 207th St., near Sherman Avenue, and was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition, according to the NYPD.

Police said it was later determined he was paralyzed from the shooting.

The street was closed off for approximately 12 hours after the shooting, according to CBS New York.

The 207th Street corridor has long been a concern for residents, with complaints concerning everything from double-parking, which police said has hit the neighborhood hard in recent years, as well as noise from restaurants and lounges.

Police said they’re still looking for the suspect and the investigation is ongoing.
