HELL'S KITCHEN — The strung-out Manhattan man charged in Friday’s vicious pit bull attack inside a West 47th Street high-rise ordered his pooch to pounce because he was convinced the victim was a robot out to kill him, police sources said.

Patrick Walsh, 35, gave the kooky explanation to police after ordering his pitbull to sic the 27-year-old victim, as well as kicking the man in the face in the ninth-floor hallway of The Biltmore near Eighth Avenue, prosecutors said.

Walsh and the other man had been doing ketamine in the apartment the night before, prosecutors said.

"They were high on drugs. What do you expect?" a police source said.

Police later found a cache of drugs inside Walsh’s apartment, including nearly 700 Ecstasy pills, crystal meth, about 100 oxycodone pills and several dozen bottles of steroids, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital for his injuries, including bloody gashes to his arms. He had not been charged as of Monday morning, according to police.

Walsh was charged with assault, drug possession and use of drug paraphernalia, prosecutors said.

He was ordered held on $25,000 bail at his arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court.

His lawyer could not immediately be reached for comment.
