HELL’S KITCHEN — A housing lottery for 13 single-room occupancy apartments in a Hell’s Kitchen building opened this week — with monthly rents of $714.
The newly renovated units at Stardom Hall, at 332 W. 51st St. between Eighth and Ninth avenues, are available to one-person households making between $24,480 and $40,080 per year, according to NYC Housing Connect.
The building has 24-hour security, an on-site resident manager, a community room, a backyard, a laundry room and “on-site social services for low income or formerly homeless households with special needs,” the city said.
Each floor of the building has a kitchenette and a shared communal bathroom, and the rent includes all utilities.
Five percent of the units will be set aside for applicants with mobility-related disabilities, 2 percent will be set aside for applicants with vision and hearing-related disabilities, and 5 percent will be set aside for municipal employees.
Applicants can apply online or request a mail-in application by sending a self-addressed envelope to Stardom Hall c/o Arete Management LLC, 42 W. 39th St., 14th Floor, New York, NY 10018.
Residents will be selected through a lottery and interview process.
