MANHATTAN — The L train was shuttered between Manhattan and Brooklyn for slightly less than an hour during the Tuesday evening commute while police inspected a suspicious package at First Avenue, according to officials.
Authorities received the call at 4:46 p.m. about the package spotted on the eastbound platform at First Avenue, an NYPD spokesman said. It was deemed safe at about 5:30 p.m.
There was no L service between Eighth Avenue and Bedford Avenue while the bomb squad investigated and service resumed with delays at about 5:35 p.m., according to the MTA's website.
