UPPER EAST SIDE — Police released new surveillance images of a man who threatened to throw acid on two women at a Citibank ATM if they didn't fork over cash, police said.

The suspect followed a woman to an ATM at 1266 First Ave. on May 12 around 5:28 p.m. and said, "Yo, mami, I have acid, and I'm gonna throw it in your face if you don't give me $1,000," the NYPD said.

He then waved a bottle at the victim that was filled with yellow liquid, police said. The 22-year-old victim withdrew $1,000 to give to the suspect.

Then, on May 29, he approached a 36-year-old woman at the same Citibank ATM and demanded cash just before 4 p.m., the NYPD said.

"Give me $1,000 or I'll throw acid on you," he told the victim while waving a bottle at her, according to police.

The woman withdrew $500 and gave it to the suspect before he fled southbound on First Avenue, police said.

Police had released two videos of the man in May.

The new photos show a man with gray hair wearing all black and a red backpack.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
