THE BRONX — A man and woman robbed a livery cab driver at knifepoint in broad daylight as he dropped them off in Morrisania, according to the NYPD.

The 70-year old victim picked up a man and woman near Kingsbridge and Grand Concourse on Monday and drove them to 799 E. 150th St., near Tinton Avenue, around noon when the robbery took place.

The female suspect left the vehicle, while the male suspect brandished a knife and demanded the driver hand over his cellphone, tablet and $75, before fleeing the scene, police said.

The victim was unharmed during the robbery, according to the NYPD.

"It's part of the daily living of the livery cab driver," said Fernando Mateo, founder of the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers. "They know that drivers have cash, so they become a target."

The suspects were described as 18 to 25 years old. The man was caught on surveillance wearing a pale red T-shirt and red shorts, while the woman was wearing a light-colored shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
