ROCKAWAY BEACH —A 47-year-old man was found stabbed to death inside a stairwell at the Hammel Houses early Sunday, police said.
Joseph Smart was found at 1:30 a.m. Sunday with multiple stab wounds inside a first floor stairwell at 82-01 Beach Channel Drive, where he lived, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are still investigating the murder.
