MURRAY HILL — Police have released photos and video of a suspect accused of fatally shooting a man outside a deli in May.

Fernando Gonzalez, 39, was shot in the chest in front of 40-38 162nd St., near Northern Boulevard, just minutes after midnight on May 31, police said.

It's not clear what prompted the shooting, which left the father of a 10-year-old son dead.

Police released video of the suspect from a neighboring store. He was last seen wearing black pants and a blue hooded sweatshirt with "American Eagle" on the front.

Although the NYPD had originally said Gonzalez was shot in the face, they amended their report Friday to clarify he was shot in the chest.

An NYPD spokesman said they initially made an error in their reports to the media by describing the wound as a shot to the face.
