MANHATTAN — A man was stabbed inside Washington Square Diner early Wednesday morning, officials said.

The victim, whose identity wasn't immediately released, was stabbed about 4:26 a.m. in the diner at 150 W. Fourth St., Sixth Avenue, an FDNY spokeswoman said.

He appeared to have been with another man who accompanied him into the eatery's bathroom, according to the restaurant's owner who declined to give his name.

"They looked like they were friends. Then one of them pointed to the bathroom and the other guy followed," the owner said.

The victim left the bathroom limping, but it wasn't immediately clear what happened in the bathroom, the owner said.

The man was treated at Bellevue and listed in stable condition, officials said.

An NYPD spokeswoman didn't have further information about the incident.
