UPPER EAST SIDE — A mugger threatened to throw acid at a pair of women in separate robberies at the same bank branch on First Avenue, police said.

During the most recent robbery, on Monday just before 4 p.m., the suspect approached a 36-year-old woman at the Citibank ATM at the corner of East 68th Street and demanded cash, the NYPD said.

"Give me $1,000 or I'll throw acid on you," he told the victim while waving a bottle at her, according to police.

The woman withdrew $500 and gave it to the suspect before he fled southbound on First Avenue, police said.

He was described as wearing a gray hoodie, a black jacket and sunglasses.

Police released surveillance footage on Wednesday and Thursday of the suspect entering the branch and walking down the sidewalk with a bag.

On May 12 at the same branch, the suspect followed another woman to the ATM and said, "Yo, mami, I have acid, and I'm gonna throw it in your face if you don't give me $1,000," the NYPD said. He again waved a bottle at the victim that was filled with yellow liquid, police said.

The 22-year-old victim withdrew $200 and then another $800 to give to the mugger, police said.

He was described as wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans, standing 6-foot-4 with a thin build, police said.
