QUEENS — A bird watcher discovered a man’s badly decomposed body in Alley Pond Park in Oakland Gardens on Sunday afternoon, the NYPD said.
The birder smelled a foul odor in a wooded area near 76th Avenue and Cloverdale Road and found the corpse around 1:55 p.m., police said.
The body was so badly decomposed that police could not immediately determine whether it was a man or a woman or whether there were any signs of trauma, the NYPD said.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
