Harlem Whole Foods Set to Open in July

HARLEM — The Whole Foods on West 125th Street has an official opening date of July 21, store reps said.

The 39,000-square-foot store, at 100 W. 125th St., will kick off its grand opening with a bread-breaking ceremony at 8:45 a.m. and official opening at 9 a.m. that Friday, a spokesman said.

In addition to its usual offerings, the store also plans to stock products from Harlem-based businesses and entrepreneurs, including organic seasoning from the iconic Sylvia’s Soul Food Restaurant.

This will be the 12th location for the store in the city, and the chain said it will bring 200 jobs to the neighborhood with the West 125th Street outpost.

Opening-day festivities are set to include giveaways, including samples from local Harlem vendors, a spokesman said.
