UPPER EAST SIDE — The Sweet Shop, which was temporarily shut down after a health inspection last week, reopened Thursday with an "A," according to the Department of Health and the shop's owner.
The store, which sells candy, doughnuts and ice cream, was shuttered May 5 after an inspector couldn't get into the shop's basement to inspect because owner Kelly Jaime says he lost the keys.
As a result, The Sweet Shop, located at 404 E. 73rd St. between First and York avenues, was closed and issued 33 violation points.
But the shop was inspected again Thursday and reopened the same day. The Health Department's records now show no violations and an "A" grade.
"After investigating the Department of Health found out that everything is good as gold," Jaime said Friday.
The store posted on its Facebook page to announce the reopening to its customers.
The Sweet Shop is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the week and from 10 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday. Sunday it's open from noon to 10 p.m.
