QUEENS — A man was found dead on a subway platform in Jamaica Thursday morning, police said.

An MTA employee cleaning the station discovered the 58-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive shortly before 8 a.m. on the J train platform at Parsons Boulevard and Archer Avenue, police said.

The man, who was slumped over and had blood around his nose and mouth, was pronounced dead at the scene, police and sources said.

Police also discovered a bag with an unknown substance in his pocket, which sources said appeared to contain drugs.

The man, whose name has not been released as of Thursday afternoon pending family notification, had 23 prior arrests, mostly for criminal possession of a controlled substance and theft of service, authorities said.

No criminality is suspected at this time, police said Thursday.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing, the NYPD said.
