HARLEM — The Harlem Business Alliance will honor black women entrepreneurs and innovators at the organization's annual gala this week.

Among the nine women to be recognized are former head of Motown Records Sylvia Rhone, community activist and entrepreneur Jodie Patterson, and radio personality Dyana Williams.

“Growing up surrounded by strong, intelligent black women running thriving businesses and organizations throughout Harlem, Black Girl Magic was always the rule, not the exception," said HBA’s executive director, Regina Smith.

The theme, “Black Women Did That,” marks the first time the organization will exclusively honor black women in the 36 years it has hosted the gala.

The 36th Annual Harlem Business Alliance Awards Gala will take place Wednesday, May 3, from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Mist Harlem, 46 W. 116th St. Click here for more information
