UPDATE: No Charges in Greenpoint Rape Claim Due to Victim 'Inconsistencies': NYPD

GREENPOINT — Two men raped a woman Monday evening after approaching under the guise of asking for directions, police said.

The attack occurred just after 6 p.m. outside of 176 Banker St., an industrial stretch near the Greenpoint waterfront, police said.

A 26-year-old woman told officials she was approached by two males in their twenties who asked her for directions, officials said. The woman told police the men sexually assaulted her, and then ran from the scene of the assault north along Banker Street with the woman's cellphone, police said.

The woman was taken to Wyckoff Hospital in stable condition.

No one had been arrested for the attack and the investigation was ongoing, a police spokeswoman said.
