QUEENS — A passenger may be brain dead after a speeding Dodge Charger he was riding in crashed and got wedged under a box truck near John F. Kennedy Airport, critically injuring him and the driver Monday night, sources said.

The two men, 20 and 23, were speeding west on Rockaway Boulevard and tried to pass the box truck making a turn into 230-19 Rockaway Blvd., near Springfield Lane, about 6:22 p.m. when they slammed into its trailer, NYPD officials said.

They both suffered serious injuries to their body and were taken to Jamaica Hospital, where they're listed in critical condition, police said.

The 20-year-old passenger suffered severe head injuries and may be brain dead, sources said.

The truck's driver stayed at the scene and wasn't immediately ticketed or charged, police said.
