QUEENS — A driver suffered life-threatening injuries after he sped through a stop sign, then a metal gate before crashing into parked box trucks in a work yard in Richmond Hill on Monday night, police said.
The 20-year-old driver, whose name wasn't immediately released, sped his Nissan Maxima north on 120th Street and through a stop sign at 89th Avenue about 7:53 p.m., an NYPD spokesman said.
He burst through a metal gate at 87-71 Lefferts Blvd. and crashed into the unoccupied trucks there, police said.
He was treated at Jamaica Hospital where he's listed in critical condition, police said Tuesday morning.
Police are still investigating the crash.
