EAST VILLAGE — A female cyclist was taken off life support Tuesday after a person driving a box truck struck her on First Avenue, an NYPD spokesman said.

Kelly Hurley, 31, was cycling north on the avenue near East Ninth Street on April 5 at about 7:20 a.m. when the driver hit her and she got pinned under a wheel.

She suffered severe head trauma and taken to Bellevue Hospital.

The driver remained at the scene and was not initially arrested.

Investigators were still reviewing video, the spokesman added, and the driver could still be charged.
