CHELSEA — A would-be thief fled an Eighth Avenue bank empty-handed after passing a demand note to the teller, the NYPD said.
The man walked into the Capital One Bank at 144 Eighth Ave., near West 17th Street, around 2:23 p.m. on Tuesday and passed the teller a note demanding cash, police said.
When the teller didn’t immediately hand any over, the man fled the bank without anything, the NYPD said.
Police are now searching for an approximately 25-year-old, 160-pound man standing 5-foot-10.
Capital One didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment Friday.
