WEST BRIGHTON — With great power comes great responsibility — or in his case, great guilt.

A man wearing a Spider-Man T-shirt swiped $5,000 worth of religious items from a hospital chapel, police said.

The suspect went into the chapel at Richmond University Medical Center, 355 Bard Ave., on March 23 at about 3:08 a.m. and opened the altar cabinet, the NYPD said.

He swiped four gold pyxes and a gold lunette, which both hold the Eucharist during services, worth a combined $5,000, police said.

The suspect is a 5-foot 7-inch tall, 150-pound man with brown eyes and long black curly hair, police said. He was last seen wearing a black Spider-Man shirt, grey sweatpants, a red and black jacket and a gray Yankees cap.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
