A Second Trader Joe's Is Coming to the UWS, Likely by Late 2017

UPPER WEST SIDE — Upper West Siders waiting to ring up their frozen mandarin orange chicken and Cookie Butter could be seeing shorter lines in 2017.

The popular grocery store chain will open its new location at 670 Columbus Ave., at West 93rd Street, in "late 2017," according to a post on the company's website.

This will be the second Trader Joe's supermarket in the neighborhood, after an earlier site opened at 2073 Broadway.

The West Side Rag, which broke the latest news, had reported rumors of a Trader Joe's coming to the West 90s back in September 2014. 

Late stage negotiations over the store's two-level 20,000 square-foot space were reported by The Real Deal in March 2016
