QUEENS — A thief choked a man unconscious in Jackson Heights before stealing his wallet, watch and jewelry, NYPD officials said.

Dramatic video shows the suspect come up behind the 49-year-old man and wrap his arms around the victim's neck about 3:31 a.m. on March 6 near Junction Boulevard and 34th Road, according to police.

The thief, who is in his late 20s and about 5 feet 9 inches tall, rummaged through the victim's pockets to steal his belongings before fleeing, police said.

The victim suffered a cut to the back of his head but refused medical attention at the scene, officials said.
