MIDTOWN — A Pennsylvania couple was randomly attacked at an information booth in the Port Authority Bus Terminal on Monday morning by a man who fled the scene and hasn't been arrested, officials said.

The man, 70, and his wife, 69, had tickets and were getting help at the terminal's information booth about 11:21 a.m. when the suspect punched the man and then the woman, according to PAPD spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

"I heard her screaming. She was on the ground. I saw him running," said Mercedes Jeffrey, 29, who works at Bolton's in the terminal.

The suspect then kicked open the exit door, breaking a glass panel, and fled, Pentangelo said.

The couple, who are from Erwinna, Pennsylvania, were treated and released from NYU Medical Center, PAPD officials said.
