Man Shot in Leg While Standing on Rockaway Street Corner, Police Say

FAR ROCKAWAY — A man was shot in the leg while standing on a street corner in a possible drug-related shooting, police sources said.

The 50-year-old victim was near Brookhaven Avenue and Beach 25th Street in Far Rockaway at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday when he was approached by the unidentified suspect, police said.

The suspect shot him in the left leg and then fled.

The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition, according to police.

NYPD sources said they are investigating a narcotics sale as a possible motive, but didn't have any further information. 

The suspect is between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 5 inches, 180 pounds, and was last seen wearing a t-shirt with the number "12" on the black, a black knit hat, dark hooded sweatshirt, blue parka and dark pants and shoes.
