BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — After more than a decade on Montague Street, Housing Works's popular thrift shop is closing its doors.
The store at 122 Montague St. — which opened in 2007 — will close March 14 under a “mutual agreement” between the landlord and the business after its lease ended in February, a press release said.
The organization is planning to open another location in Brooklyn, but it did not specify where.
“We love our Brooklyn Heights community but we want to assure our customers that this is not goodbye for good, as we have plans to start location scouting in the
surrounding area,” said Cheryl Grimm, vice president of Housing Works Thrift Shops.
“We encourage our Brooklyn Heights customers to visit us at our 12 other shop locations and are grateful for their love and support.”
Housing Works, which also provides health care services for those with HIV and AIDS, currently has one other Brooklyn store in Park Slope and 11 outposts in Manhattan.
