By  Eddie Small and Katie Honan | March 6, 2017 12:13pm

CONCOURSE — A Bronx woman who may have been fleeing a robbery fell five stories to her death from her South Bronx apartment building, according to the NYPD.

The woman, 43-year-old Maria Carolina Sanchez-Tiburcio, was found unconscious outside of 940 Grand Concourse on Friday around 3:15 p.m. with trauma to her body and head, police said. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.

Four men had come to the apartment building either to commit a robbery or start a fight with one of its residents, and officials believe Sanchez-Tiburcio fell from the fifth floor while trying to get away from them, police said.

The Medical Examiner's Office has ruled her death a homicide caused by several blunt impact injuries.
