FINANCIAL DISTRICT —  A man caught stealing lotions, shampoos and conditioners pulled a knife on a Duane Reade worker who caught him shoplifting, police said.

The thief was stopped by a store employee when he saw the man snatching $342 worth of Aveeno lotions, a variety of eye creams, and eight bottles of shampoo and conditioners from shelves of the 100 Broadway store on Feb. 18 at about 8:30 p.m.

A struggle ensued between the men, when the thief pulled out an orange-handled knife and said, "leave me alone." The suspect then fled the store. No injuries were reported.

Police were still investigating the robbery as of Wednesday.
