BROOKLYN — A man suffered life-threatening injuries after a group of men stabbed him and pummeled him with a trash can in a Monday attack that was caught on video, police said.

Disturbing video shows the 26-year-old victim lying in the middle of the intersection of Mother Gaston Boulevard and Belmont Avenue about 8:30 p.m. as the group swarms around, taking turns beating him, according to the NYPD.

The video shows what appear to be at least 10 attackers. Police didn't know how many actually participated in the beating but said all of them were male.

It wasn't immediately clear what sparked the attack.

The man was treated at Brookdale Hospital, where he's listed in critical condition, police said.
