Man Found Dead in Bed-Stuy Hallway, Police Say

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A 25-year-old man was found dead inside a Willoughby Avenue apartment building, police said.

Anthony Toma, of Ridgewood, was discovered in a hallway at 647 Willoughby Ave. near Throop Avenue, just before 11 a.m. Monday, according to an NYPD spokeswoman.

Police responded to the location after a call from the building’s super and found him unresponsive, officials said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no visible signs of trauma to Toma, according to police, and the investigation is ongoing.

No arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon and the cause of death had not been determined.
