BROOKLYN — A Brooklyn man and his girlfriend have been indicted in connection with the execution-style murder of the man's correction officer ex-girlfriend.
Keon Richmond, 35, has been indicted for the murder of Alastasia Bryan, 25, who was found fatally shot at point blank range in her car near her Bergen Beach home at East 73rd Street and Avenue L in December.
Richmond's current girlfriend, Shirley Mejia, has been indicted on two counts of hindering prosecution for hiding the car Richmond fled in after the murder, according to the DA's office.
After gunning down Bryan, Richmond fled in a Hyundai Elantra with license plates registered to Mejia, the DA's office said. Two days later, Richmond removed the license plates while Mejia paid to store the getaway car at a mechanic's shop in New Jersey, prosecutors alleged.
Richmond and Mejia had both been formerly charged with arson for torching another ex-girlfriend's car last October.
Richmond could serve 25 years to life in prison if convicted, while Mejia faces up to seven years, the DA's office said.
