QUEENS — A man was knocked unconscious for returning to his spot on line at a MetroCard machine in the Flushing-Main Street station after stepping away, NYPD officials said.
The 43-year-old man, whose name wasn't released, was standing in line to add money to his MetroCard, but then stepped out of the line to check his balance on the swipe machine on the station's kiosk before trying to return to his spot on the queue about 1:50 p.m. Jan. 22, police said.
Two men started arguing with the victim, shoving him toward some stairs where they beat him unconscious, police said.
The victim was treated for cuts to his face at New York-Presbyterian/Queens, police said.
Police on Tuesday released a surveillance video showing the two suspects, who fled the scene and had not been arrested as of Wednesday morning.
One of them is in his 20s while the other is in his 40s, according to authorities.
