An installation showing a drawing of Russian president Vladimir Putin cuddling a pregnant President Donald Trump projected on three city buildings went viral Tuesday night.
It was exactly the kind of street art that might tempt a liberal New Yorker to post to their social media accounts — which is exactly what many of them did.
Even New York magazine art critic Jerry Saltz tweeted a picture of the projection, which appeared on two buildings in Chelsea and one in Williamsburg.
But the Valentine's Day mockery of Trump's pro-Putin stance — which dovetailed with reports of repeated contact between then presidential nominee Trump's campaign aids and Russian intelligence — is anything but the work of a wannabe Banksy.
