NEW BRIGHTON — A man was arrested after he dragged a 13-year-old girl into his bedroom and raped her, prosecutors said.

William Rivera, 45, pulled the girl into the room in his Corson Avenue apartment at 3:25 p.m. on Feb. 8 and attacked her, according to his criminal complaint.

The girl was taken to Richmond University Medical Center afterwards, authorities said.

Rivera was arrested later that day and charged with rape, performing a criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.

He was held without bail and an order of protection was issued against him, according to online court records.

His lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
