MURRAY HILL — Applications opened Monday for nearly a dozen below-market-rate apartments at a new doorman building in Murray Hill, with prices starting at $833 for a studio.

There are 11 openings for affordable units at 210 E. 39th St., a new 20-story, mixed-use residential building between Third Avenue and Tunnel Exit Street, according to the city’s Housing Connect website.

Amenities at the building that are included in the below-market rate rent include a 24-hour doorman, roof deck lounges and laundry. Affordable unit tenants will have to pay extra to access a fitness center and bike storage.

A single studio for $833 per month is open to applicants making between $30,446 and $38,100.

There are seven one-bedroom apartments for $895 per month, available to single renters making between $32,640 and $38,100 per year and two-person households with an income between $32,640 and $43,500 per year.

The building has three below-market two-bedroom apartments for $1,082, available to two-person households making between $39,086 and $43,500, three-person households making between $39,086 and $48,960, and four-person households with an income between $39,086 and $54,360.

Fifty percent — or approximately 5 — of the units will be reserved for residents of Manhattan Community Board 6, five percent — or one apartment — will be for municipal employees, five percent will go to mobility-impaired applicants and two percent for hearing or vision-disabled applicants, the city said.

The deadline for applying is Feb. 28, and applicants can find more information on the city’s Housing Connect website.
