EAST HARLEM — A cashier at the East River Plaza Target store stole $2,000 by loading the money onto gift cards, the NYPD said.

A security guard at the retailer, located at 517 E. 117 St., caught 20-year-old Victoria Diego processing gift cards without receiving cash between late December 2016 and early January 2017, according to the criminal complaint.

Diego is accused of loading funds on four different gift cards. On Dec. 28 she put on $100, then on Jan. 4 she processed two $500 transactions and lastly a $900 transaction on Jan. 9, prosecutors said.

Diego was arraigned on Jan. 9 and charged with petit larceny.
