MIDTOWN — LIRR commuters can expect cancelations and delays during the Wednesday evening rush because of a broken rail in Queens, according to the MTA.

There will be 13 canceled trains from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the Babylon, Long Beach, Port Jefferson and Port Washington lines due to the broken rail outside one of the East River tunnels. The MTA is cross-honoring LIRR tickets on the E line at Jamaica, Kew Gardens and Forest Hills and on the 7 line at Woodside.

Riders can check the MTA’s website for a list of canceled trains.

Westbound service will terminate at Jamaica starting at 4:30 p.m., where LIRR tickets will be cross-honored on the E line. Commuters can also take a train from Jamaica to Atlantic Terminal, where LIRR tickets are also being cross-honored.
