GRANITEVILLE — A man threw a stapler at a worker at a Chinese restaurant during an argument inside, prosecutors said.

Edgar Loyo, 29, was arguing with a female worker inside Yum Yum Chinese Food, at 1778 Forest Ave., over his order on Saturday when he threw a metal stapler at her, a law enforcement source said.

The stapler hit the woman in her face causing cuts to the left side of her nose, bleeding and swelling, prosecutors said.

Loyo was arrested and charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment at his arraignment, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.

His bail was set at $2,500, according to online court records.

Loyo was arrested several times last year for petit larceny and criminal trespass, according to online court records. He was also convicted of assault in July, according to his criminal complaint.

His lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
