BROOKLYN — Two-dozen apartments in Crown Heights starting at $845 per month for a studio will open to applicants Thursday through the city's affordable housing lottery.

The units at 1040 Dean St. at the corner of Franklin Avenue include studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments open to residents earning a range of incomes. 

One studio renting for $845 per month will be available to a resident earning between $30,858 and $38,100 per year.

Twenty one-bedroom apartments renting for $856 per month will be available to one-person households earning between $31,303 and $38,100 per year, or two-person households earning between $31,303 and $43,500 per year.

A trio of two-bedroom units renting for $1,022 per month will be available to two-person households earning between $37,029 and $43,500 per year, three-person households earning between $37,029 and $48,960 per year, or four-bedroom households earning between $37,029 and $54,360 per year.

Monthly rents include the cost of cooking gas. 

Amenities at the building include an intercom system, a fitness center, a rooftop terrace, storage, limited parking and bike storage in the large new residential building notable for its floor-to-ceiling, multi-paned windows.

Five percent of the units are set aside for mobility-disabled applicants, while 2 percent are set aside for vision or hearing-impaired applicants.

Preference for 50 percent of the apartments will be given to those already living in Brooklyn Community Board 8, while preference for 5 percent of the units will be given to city employees.

The deadline to apply is March 13.

The project, formerly known as 608 Franklin Ave., has been under construction for about two years.
