MORRIS HEIGHTS — Applications are open for seven new affordable apartments in the neighborhood, with rents starting as low as $1,292 a month.

The units will be available at 74 W. Tremont Ave. and consist of three one-bedrooms for $1,292 a month and four two-bedrooms for $1,458 a month.

The apartments are available for households of between one and four people earning from $42,298 to $72,480 per year.

Eligible residents of Community Board 5 and city employees will receive preference for a percentage of units, as will eligible applicants with mobile, vision or hearing disabilities.

Applications for the units must be submitted by Jan. 26, and prospective tenants can apply online at nyc.gov/housingconnect or request an application through the mail by sending a self-addressed envelope to Justin from Three, LLC, P.O. Box 9, Purchase, NY 10577.
