Park Slope Bagel Shop Worker Steals $1K From Owner, Police Say

By Leslie Albrecht | January 6, 2017 3:31pm | Updated on January 9, 2017 8:41am

PARK SLOPE — An employee of La Bagel Delight on Seventh Avenue and President Street stole $1,437 from the store with help from an accomplice, according to a police report.

Worker Dalia Jamison, 19, was caught on the cafe's surveillance camera taking cash out of a register and putting it in her purse, then handing off the purse to Donovan Dunham, 20, according to a criminal complaint.

Dunham is not an employee at the store, shop owner Batoul Najar said.

The pair stole cash over the course of two weeks starting on Dec. 12 to Dec. 26, when they were finally arrested, police said.

"We are working with the 78th Precinct right now and trying to move forward," Najar said.

Jamison and Dunham were charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, according to the complaint.

Defense attorneys for Jamison and Dunham did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Editor's note:  A previous version of this story, based on information in a police report, incorrectly stated that both defendants were employees of La Bagel Delight. Only Jamison was an employee, not Dunham, the store's owner told DNAinfo New York.
