Homeless Man Arrested for Fatal Daylight Shooting in Stapleton, Police Say

STAPLETON — A homeless man was arrested for a fatal shooting in broad daylight on a Stapleton street, police said.

Donald Bracey, 30, was arrested Tuesday morning for the Dec. 26 shooting of Tanoon W. Quoquoi, the NYPD said.

Quoquoi, 31, was near 180 Broad St. when Bracey shot him multiple times in the torso at 1:05 p.m., police said.

He was taken to Richmond University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Bracey was charged with murder, criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon and assault.

He has previously been arrested 17 times dating back to 2003. The most recent was in April 2015 when he was charged with resisting arrest, police said.
