Man Dies After Broad Daylight Staten Island Shooting, Police Say

STAPLETON — A 31-year-old man was fatally shot in broad daylight on Staten Island Monday afternoon, police and fire officials said.

The fire department received a 911 call about the shooting about 12:49 p.m., the FDNY said, and emergency medical personnel took the victim to Richmond University Medical Center. 

The victim, identified as Tanoon W. Quoquoi Tuesday, had been shot in the torso multiple times, the NYPD said.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital, the NYPD said. The Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause of death.

The NYPD said that they didn't immediately know who the shooter was. An investigation is ongoing.
