Two Men Arrested After Stealing Baby Formula from Target, Police Say

PARK SLOPE — Two men were arrested after stealing $104 in baby formula from the Atlantic Terminal Target on Dec. 15, according to a police report.

The thieves, one 19 and one 21, put packages of Enfamil baby formula into a bag, along with men's pants and gloves as a security guard watched, according to the report.

Other recent crimes in the 78th Precinct include the following, with details from police reports and criminal complaints:

► A 23-year-old man was arrested Dec. 13 after an undercover police officer at J.J. Byrne playground spotted him stealing a bag containing jeans, a cellphone charger, body spray, and a purse from inside the Old Stone House on Third Street and Fifth Avenue.

► A 75-year-old woman was arrested Dec. 14 after hitting her daughter in the head with scissors Dec. 14 in an apartment on Dean Street near Carlton Avenue. The daughter sustained a minor cut and refused medical attention.

► A 23-year-old cashier at the Atlantic Terminal Target was arrested Dec. 17 after her managers discovered she had stolen $1,936 in merchandise over a period of two months.

► A $696 HP Envy touch screen laptop was stolen from the lobby of a building on Fourth Avenue and Warren Street on Dec. 12. The computer was in a package delivered to the building. A neighbor of the intended recipient signed for the package and left it in the lobby.

Overall, major crime in the 78th Precinct has dropped 8 percent this year compared to the same period in 2015, according to the most recent statistics from the NYPD. There were 889 major crimes reported between Jan. 1 and Dec. 18, 2016, and 964 major crimes during that period in 2015.
