ST. GEORGE — Toys 'R' Us is the latest store to rent space in the new outlet mall headed to Staten Island's waterfront.

The toy store leased 3,300 square feet of space inside Empire Outlets and plans to have its store ready when the mall opens in 2017, developers announced Tuesday.

"We are thrilled to bring Toys 'R' Us to the North Shore as part of Empire Outlets’ diverse and growing mix of incredible stores," said Joseph Ferrara, the principal of Empire Outlets' developer BFC Partners.

"Our combination of quality retail and restaurants will provide residents across the New York metro area with a unique shopping experience that can only be found right here on Staten Island."

The space will be the only Toys 'R' Us outlet store in the city and its first location on the North Shore of Staten Island.

Empire Outlets, under construction near the St. George Ferry Terminal, will be the city's only outlet mall when it opens in late 2017.

Developers said the spot has leased more than 60 percent of the space inside the mall to stores like Nike, H&M, Nordstrom Rack and Banana Republic Factory.

The outlet mall will also have restaurants like Two Boots Pizza, Mighty Quinn's Barbeque and MRKTPL an "artisanal" food spot run by the team behind the Meatpacking District's Gansevoort Market.

The development also includes a 190-room hotel and a parking garage.
