BROOKLYN — A stray bullet pierced the window of a Canarsie school while classes were in session on Tuesday morning, NYPD officials said.

The bullet lodged into a bulletin board inside 6565 Flatlands Ave., near Ralph Avenue, about 11:30 a.m., police said.

"Students and staff are safe and there were no injuries," said Department of Education spokeswoman Toya Holness.

The campus houses various schools including Brooklyn Generation, the Academy for Conservation and the Environment, Brooklyn Bridge Academy and Uncommon Preparatory Charter High School.

"We'll continue working closely with the NYPD to ensure the safety of all school buildings," Holness said.
