EAST VILLAGE — A man was shot in the stomach after moving a traffic cone reserving a parking space in front of a Hells Angels clubhouse early Sunday morning.

The 25-year-old victim was driving down East Third Street between Second and First avenues at around 1:20 a.m. when he hopped out of his car to move a traffic cone in front of the clubhouse at 77 E. Third St. so he could drive past, police said.

A man then came out of the clubhouse and told him not to move the cone, sparking an argument, police said.

The victim got out of his car to confront the man — who the New York Post reported wore a Hells Angels insignia — at which point the biker threw a punch, according to authorities.

The fight escalated when others spilled out of the club house to join the fray, police said. During the brawl, a man pulled a gun and fired a single shot and struck the victim in the abdomen. Police were unable to confirm whether the shooter was a Hells Angels member.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital with non life-threatening injuries and is likely to survive, police said.

The suspect who fired the shot has not been identified, and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
