PHOTOS: Manhattan Department Stores Unveil Their 2016 Holiday Windows

It's bound to be a rough holiday season for Fifth Avenue flagship stores like Tiffany & Co. and Bergdorf Goodman, with police checkpoints restricting pedestrian traffic near President-elect Donald Trump's residence at Trump Tower during his transition to the White House.

But the show — of some spectacular windows dressed for the winter holidays — must go on.

The elaborate displays are months in the making — nine in the case of Bergdorf's exotic installations.

At the Macy's in Herald Square, it takes a team of more than 250 graphic artists, sculptors, animators, carpenters, electricians and sound experts to bring its window scenes to life.
